Great Things I’ve Read

January 13, 2017 by Edwin Crozier Leave a Comment

But apparently a lot of my friends forgot they heard that from him, because I hear it repeated frequently. But I digress.

Did You See that Alabama Victory?

Wow!

What a game on Monday night, huh? Exciting.

What a victory for Alabama. I was so excited for them. It must feel so good to put such a victory under their belt.

Wait?! What’s that you are saying? Alabama didn’t win? But they had more points for 58 minutes of a 60 minute game. Surely that counts for something. They led the score for much longer than Clemson did. Surely that should matter more than what happened in the last few seconds of the game.

be RESOLVED: Introduction

be RESOLVED

Week two of 2017. How are you doing on your resolutions?

Jim Gaffigan’s take on resolutions to work out seems to be the norm for most of us on just about any resolution.

I’m one of those people whenever I do work out, I immediately have grand plans. You know: “I’m going to work out every day.” And then the next day I’m like, “Well, not every day. I gotta let my muscles breathe a little. I’ll work out every other day.” And then the next day I’m like, “Nah, I’m happy with the way I look. I don’t want to get caught up in that beauty culture.”

Men! If you’re like me, you’ve been lied to. When told what to do to help overcome your lust, you have probably been given rotten advice that is not helping you, but hurting you. It is keeping you locked in cycles of lust and sexual frustration. Let me help you sweep the lie away so you can retrain your thinking and find greater and greater victory over lust.

Who Will Parent Our Society’s Children? A Parable

January 6, 2015 by Edwin Crozier Leave a Comment

I’d like to share a story with you. I warn you it is tragic and has no happy ending. But it is important. Sadly, I’ve seen this story play out again and again, though with different details. And admittedly, this is a compilation of multiple stories with some dramatic license taken on my part. Names have been changed to protect the innocent (and keep from shaming the guilty). You probably know these people or some like them.

How to Rely on God’s Grace without Becoming a Calvinist-Perservance

December 4, 2014 by Edwin Crozier 2 Comments

As we consider all of our fears about being accused of teaching Calvinism, we finally get to the other tip of the TULIP: Perseverance of the Saints. Since we all know saints need to persevere, I think few of us will get too worked up about talking about saints persevering. However, it is very easy to throw the baby out with the bathwater as we fear someone might think we are Calvinists. So, let’s examine the third alternative regarding this tenet as well. Keep reading to find out more.
